Texas Leadership Charter Academy at Arlington Seeks Input for Campus Turnaround Plan
TLCA is proud of our school, outstanding teachers and staff, hard-working students, and committed parents and volunteers. Our school serves approximately 550 students in grades K-9, and we employ approximately 65 dedicated professionals. We are currently adding a grade each year to becoming a K-12 campus.
TLCA strives to prepare every student for success by implementing curriculum and instruction designed to ensure that our classrooms meet the needs of a diverse student population. In the effort to improve student success, our campus is committed to making ongoing updates to our instructional programs. The turnaround plan in one such effort.
What is a turnaround plan?
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has identified our Arlington campus as a "turnaround campus" based on student achievement levels below what our district considers acceptable. TEA has rated this campus "Improvement Required (IR)" for two consecutive school years. Beginning in 2016, according to TEA mandates, the district leadership and administrators are required to create a turnaround plan listing the actions that must take place to improve student achievement.
Your input is needed to improve this campus.
Parents, staff, and community members are encouraged to provide suggestions and recommend what they feel should be included in this turnaround plan. Areas where suggestions are welcome include the following: discipline and classroom management concerns, specific school programs and practices that need improvement, possible solutions to problems, and ideas for overall campus improvement.
How can you provide input?
You are invited to share your ideas for improvement in one of the following ways:
1. Take the online survey (https://goo.gl/forms/iTTGry9jLIWCC88d2).
2. Print the survey and return it to the campus front office.
3. Pick up a survey from the campus and return it to the campus front office.
TLCA Arlington will soon host a Turnaround Plan community meeting for parents, staff, and community members to provide input and learn more about the campus improvement plan. The meeting date will be posted on this site when it is scheduled.
